What is it?

Virtual therapy has become the norm in the time of this pandemic and quarantine. Telehealth includes therapy conducted via an online platform utilizing video and audio, or over the phone.

Does it work?

Telehealth, although it has its obvious limitations, can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy sessions. With this advanced technology we are able to still connect and interact in a genuine way. I am confident that it elicits the same results as a regular face-to-face session would.

I am still on the fence…

Whether you have phone and facetime anxiety (*raises hand* that’s me!), are not technologically savvy, unsure about the security and confidentiality of it, or are just simply afraid to try something new, I’d encourage you to push through and give it a shot! It actually doesn’t take long to adjust and get past any initial anxiety and settle into the groove of a normal therapy session (I’m talking from experience!). The platforms are made to be very easy to use no matter how familiar you are with them (most have easy access to apps or can be accessed via a webpage without even having to create any sort of account or sign up for the service). I do my best to ensure confidentiality at all times and utilize HIPAA compliant platforms. I do require both of us be in a confidential space for the duration of our session and out of hearing range from any other person. And finally, trying something new and change can be super scary and difficult - I totally get it! I am here to help you make the transition as smooth as possible!
