Walk & Talk Therapy

What is it?

Walk & Talk therapy brings another dimension to your traditional talk therapy.

Rather than sitting on a couch face-to-face, we take to nature side-by-side to relieve any discomfort or awkwardness.

Furthermore, the bilateral movement through this physical movement can be helpful in facilitating psychological movement & allow you to process with more ease.

Nature & fresh air also contribute their own unique benefits on our psychological states. This is a great alternative to telehealth as we navigate through this era of COVID-19.

I meet at local parks, trails, lakes, & beaches which is mutually decided upon once the appointment has been confirmed.

Benefits of Walking During Pregnancy

Doctors everywhere boast about the benefits of walking during pregnancy. I’ve compiled a list of just a few of these:

  • Studies confirm that regular exercise during pregnancy decreases the risk of developing gestational diabetes or having unplanned cesarean sections. Staying active through walking can help reduce the overall risk of complications during pregnancy & delivery.

  • Consistent walking has been found to boost both your mood & energy levels.

  • Can improve sleep.

  • Eases aches & pain common with pregnancy.

  • Enhances or maintains your muscle strength to help with the delivery & recovery process.

Walking is a great low-impact exercise suitable for most pregnant women! You can choose your own pace and take breaks throughout the session.

Put on some good shoes, grab your water bottle, & use the bathroom first!

Lets take this holistic approach through walk & talk therapy to help enhance mental, physical, & spiritual wellness!
